During the course workshop, we were asked to make an installation out of paper, and I tried to work with just monochrome paper, which was the inspiration for Come Home Again. I thought that although monochrome paper might not be intricate and beautiful in itself, it might be a good match with light.
The first thing I thought of regarding paper installation was paper folding. I first tried to make a simple flower, but it didn’t turn out to look like a flower. So I tried a more complicated paper folding and spent about 15 minutes to make a lily. Although the finished product was beautiful, I felt that the Paper installation did not match the soft and inclusive feel I wanted to convey and I wanted to use some softer materials for my work this time.
