Inspired by Brain Forest Quipu from Cecilia Vincuna, I began to realise that fabric might be an ideal material, but it was new to me, so I didn’t have much idea of how to work with this.

Until I entered a fabric shop that I pass by while shopping. In the fabric shop I saw a number of textured fabric designs that inspired me to perhaps embroider on fabric. I searched for fabrics in different fabric shops and bought some samples that I was interested in.

My favourite fabric sample is the one shown in the bottom, which combines four different materials. It has a white screen fabric at the bottom, a thin fabric with gradient leaves and two different sequins held in place by white thread and sewn on. These materials give the fabric its characteristic glossy and translucent feel.
