The dark green moss was not trimmed in large areas, leaving the texture of the original wool to look like the untouched, natural beauty of the moss. I trimmed different light colours of moss with different techniques to create different effects, combining different shades of green wool to bring out the layers and vibrancy of the moss bush. At the same time, by varying the length of the tufting wool, I have increased the number of three-dimensional layers in the display, enhancing the visual effect and highlighting the fluffy and thick texture of the moss. In the section representing the land, I have instead heavily trimmed and cut a flat piece of short fleece, adding only a small amount of length to the wool overlaying the multiple layers of land to create a three-dimensional feel.
I have also embellished this piece with a few small balls of fleece to symbolise some of the protruding moss.
